General Information

XXXI International Conference on Equations of State for Matter (ELBRUS 2016) will be held at the Educational-Scientific Base of KBSU in Elbrus settlement, in the Kabardino-Balkar Republic of the Russian Federation, from Tuesday, March 1, to Sunday, March 6, 2016.

Conference Focus

The technical focus of the conference is on physical properties of matter under extreme conditions at high pressures and temperatures, as well as on physics of phenomena arising from the interaction of intense energy fluxes with condensed matter. Invited plenary talks and contributed presentations in oral and poster sessions are planed. The conference will provide for the possibility of non-formal discussions, communications and co-operations.

Conference Language

The conference languages are English (obligatory for all letters, abstracts, articles, posters, presentations and preferably for talks) and Russian (optionally for talks; simultaneous interpreter will be provided).

Conference Location

Elbrus settlement is 18 km far from Mount Elbrus (the highest pike of the Caucasus, 5642 m height), 120 km far from Nalchik, which is the capital of the Kabardino-Balkar Republic, and 200 km far from Mineralnye Vody city. The nearest international airport is Mineralnye Vody.

Elbrus settlement is situated in the valley of the Baksan River, which starts from Mount Elbrus. All settlements in the valley (Itkol, Cheget, and Terskol) are famous ski resorts at altitude of approximately 2000 m. This is a region of National Park of extreme natural beauty. It is recommended to visit Mount Elbrus by an elevator for seeing the Greater Caucasus Range with eternal snow from Old Krugozor (3000 m) and Mir (3500 m) stations.
